I would direct you to Reagan's book, "Abortion and the Conscience of a Nation"

It wasn't a book...it was an article written in 1983 for.. NR I believe. It also wasn't written by Reagan. It was ghost written for him by Micheal Deaver. 1983 was the 10th Anniversary of Roe and Pro-life folks were questioning Reagan's pro-life bonafides. Deaver's article was the response.

Now....if you can point to some tangible thing Reagan did to oppose abortion other than talk about it and provide ghost written articles then I'd be pleased to see it.

Reagan's brillance was he was a traditional conservative who could appear to be a culture warrior.

Take a look: "This is a new edition of the dynamic book first published in 1983; the only book to be published by a U.S. President while he held office. With new photos and all new supporting materials, the original work by President Reagan shines with a timeless, poetic beauty. At a time when concerted efforts are being made to excise President Reagan's legacy from history, his prophetic view of the sanctity of human life, and his commitment to the "integrity of the human person" stands as a beacon of moral leadership."

64 pages long, it is available from Amazon.com. The final 26 pages are Reagan himself expressing his thoughts on the issue, which are very pro life. There are a number of other texts available that clarify his position as well, should you care to read them.

But if you're willing to mischaracterize people like Guliani and McCain as conservatives, I'm not surprised that you're willing to mischaracterize Reagan as something less than one.

Anyhow, this is a thread to support Duncan Hunter's candidacy, and we should get back to doing that. Thank you for this glimpse into the thought processes of a non-conservative that you've given us.
