Reality check.
I have a bit of a problem with the idea that black women are somehow compelled or forced to have abortions. Every woman has a choice whether to kill her baby or not, and black women have the same ability to make choices as anyone else.
Not forced, lured.
Abortions which target a specific gender are criticized, and when an unborn child is wanted and then murdered, murder of an unborn child can be a punishable crime (as in the Peterson case). How about just recognizing that all abortion is the killing of a human (rhetorical)?
Powerful post. It's been said that Planned Parenthood aims to prevent larger lower class families.
I have always wondered what percentage of abortions are by Democrat women compared to Republican women.
"Again my aim is to associate abortion and racism, not to equate them."
Why? What good could possibly come out of it? You think "racism" is the only word that will turn black people's heads? You think that is enough for a culture to do a 180 and start to embrace the religous convictions that have been ignored for 35 years?
I am so SICK of the whole, "If you want black people to listed, you have to convince them racism is working against them". In other words, the most important thing to blacks is race and we must exploit that to get what we want.
The old white race-card.
Yet - blacks will vote for "pro-choice" democrat at the 90% levels...such madness...
American-Blacks should take a long, hard look at White Feminist Liberals and Democrat Party that supports them and their abortion industry.
Well, what exactly is it that you want?
I'm black and I agree with you. Black women are not being targeted for abortions so much as they unfortunately, tend to place them in situations which result in an unplanned/unwanted pregnancy more than their white counterparts. The solution is for black women to respect themselves enough to become sexually responsible.
"Well, what exactly is it that you want?"
I was writing from the writer's perspective. I want the same thing he wants, far fewer abortions. Using some "racism" angle to attempt to reduce this number in blacks is just, well, wrong. Nobody is forced to a "white abortionist". They go because they were irresponsible with sex and could have cared less about the consequeces. Their currrent pathetic existence is far more important to them than the life of a child so they have an abortion. Racism my butt.
Good heavens! I had not realized that black women were being aborted in forcible attacks, the way blacks were lynched!
Exactly. In fact, I think it's racist to claim that black women cannot somehow make decisions like white women can.
This is how I have always thought about abortion - as the moral analogue of slavery: One party is a "non-person", whose very life is subject to the whims of another. This is the most powerful articulation of that view - coming, no less, from a Reformed brother.
Now why don't they ask themselves: if Democrats are going to secure our entitlements, why are they so anxious to decrease our numbers? They sure aren't doing it "for the children!"
The hypocrisy is stifling.
