From Conservative VA Senator Ken Cuccinelli's newsletter......
Life and a Change of Heart?
Last week I shared with you Dem Senator Yvonne Millers concerns about increasing competition in the Commonwealth and my resulting indignation.
Well, this committee continues to be a source of liberal amazement. At our second meeting, Dem Senator Henry Marsh was attacking a bill addressing how the death penalty is implemented, i.e., the mechanics of putting someone to death that has been convicted of capital murder.
He didnt like some of the proposed changes and as part of his statement in opposition he declared (please note, this is NOT a joke ): I have respect for all human life
Oh yeah, except for the unborn. Oh yeah, and only if youve been convicted of CAPITAL MURDER! At least the convicts get due process before they face the prospect of being put to death.
I saw Henry in the hallway later and told him that I was very pleased that he was now supportive of all human life and then the stammering began (often called backfilling).
We might as well have fun when they give us these gems. The inconsistency is mindboggling.
Happy Roe v. Wade day, if such a thing is not an oxy-moron.
Thank you to all of you (my family included) that went on the March for Life today, and thank all of you that do so much outside of the political arena to advance the cause of life (my aide Eve Barner included and all of you out there at LifeLine and at all of the crisis pregnancy centers). We really do need to change hearts and minds in our culture before we'll see significant changes in our law, and we all need to keep working toward that goal!

Polite email thanking him sent!
I love this. Politley remind him of the importance of protecting this fundamental right while you're thanking him.
And maybe ask him to offer a companion resolution to his slavery apology apologizing to all the aborted Virginia babies since 1973.
