I didn't watch the state of the union, but I guess it's not surprising he went for his amnesty again. He promised it to Vincete Fox when he first got into office, September 11, 2001 happened and ruined it at the time but Bush still hasn't gotten over it. With the democrats in charge, he can finally be the big-government compassionate "conservative" he's always wanted to be.

He didn't, he explicity said he opposed amnesty.
