Harry Truman fired General MacArthur after he turned the war around and started back north. Eisenhower inherited a stalemate. Maybe he could have brought back MacArthur and done it all over again, but the momentum and the will were probably lost. In any case, the continued existence of North Korea was mostly Truman's doing.

Not only he was wrong historically about Ike's role in Korea, but if he thinks that North Korea is a shining example of a desired result in Iraq, he's even more nuts than I thought him to be.
