Democrats hate it because it pushes people to make their own choices on health care, provides uninsured with some support for purchasing their own insurance, and hits the unions who have hidden a lot of their people's income from taxation by bargaining for extremely generous health insurance benefits, for example paying for things most people would think were just stuff you would pay for yourself with your own after-tax income

The democrats want to discourage people from getting their own insurance, so they can claim a crisis and launch a government takeover.

When they do, you will long for the day when you might have kept your own gold-plated plan for nothing more than the cost of paying tax on the income you recieve to pay for the plan, like you do with everything else.

Right.

But don't forget, a 15 k deduction for up to 15 k of insurance premiums.

Now why shouldn't people who buy their own get the same deduction. Seems fair to me.

Plus anyone who pays more than 15k for a couple's insurance is getting a gold plated policy and can pay tax on the excess.

You are right,,the dems want everyone on medicaid/medicare rather than out there, pickiing and choosing.
