I just searched for the "live" thread. I'ts still a thread but not the "live" thread. AM wrote "too early for the live thread." Har!

Thanks for the Dose today ..

ROFL!!
That is now an instant FReeper classic, OWF Hysterical! It WILL be stolen ..hundreds of times ..and WILL BE NEEDED! LOL.
Justa .. you did a FABulous job on the Dose for one very unusual SOTU .. thank you! I loved your very comprehensive introduction.
I would typically have been here on the Dose. On big nights like this, there's always a live thread posted a couple of hours before. I was stunned there wasn't one up yet at 7:45 for a 9 pm major news event, so I put one up .. that's all folks were talking about anyway.
Many *live* event threads go up 2-4 hrs. beforehand .. so I just went for it.
Couple of real jerks came out early, and more single-issue whiners spread their gloom consistently throughout, per usual .. can't get away from them .. but, I don't remember that any posts were pulled by the Mods. I could be wrong, which given my sneezing and stuffed nose still after a month .. wouldn't surprise me. But if not, it would be unusual in a thread approaching 2800 posts.
So .. through the coughing, sneezing, blowing of round 2 of this horrible bug, it was mostly a few annoying sideshows. Jveritas was, as usual, just SO wonderfuly and supportive to our great W and troops, and many other supporters chimed in throughout the thread.
Some thoughts on the speech ..
I thought Pres. Bush was notably sober during the speech .. but nonetheless still the gracious and well-mannered man he was raised by his classy Mom and Pop to be. How many times did I want to reach through the screen and slap Kucinich and Jackson-Lee ????
He knows .. we all know .. though the Dims refuse to accept my tagline .. that we are truly at the precipice .. and he lives with this every moment.
I think this was the first time I can recall that he didn't mention Laura at a SOTU .. there was very little frill in this speech . except at the end, recognizing those in the First Lady's gallery .. they were just heart tugging and so moving and all splendid choices.
I was surprised at the behavior by the Dims that I expected to be much worse. They saved that for today.
As someone who loves him and genuine soaring rhetoric .. just an observation: this speech was crafted by a different speechwriter. I have no doubt, though, that its intent was to be serious and and less soaring, for he knows .. more than anyone .. these times and coming days are deadly serious and portend uncertainty for our future and the future of western civilization.
And .. yet ... ever the man of unbreakable faith, he's his irrepressible self today: enthusiastic, funny, optimistic, always exuding hope and goodness. God love and protect him!
I have taken the pledge! Hope other join in .. and call these SINators, as well as their own, *down hard* for their despicable actions.
Beautiful post, STARWISE. THANK you!
ONE MORE TIME .. needs more circulation .. it's a new FREEPER CLASSIC!
ROFL!!!
Looks like some 2-year old got hold of it.
I LOVE it!
BUMP.
Thank you for the ping. That perfectly expresses my feelings :)
Nice post, STAR. Thanks for the thoughts and the ping.
I, too, noticed the omission of Laura. Wish he'd have said something to / about her, as she has been a very active First Lady. Perhaps she asked him not to mention her. I find myself agreeing with that possibility.
BTTT
LOL!! :)
