And we will show our enemies abroad that we are united in the goal of victory. That will be a change...don't put Biden on the damn group!

American foreign policy is more than a matter of war and diplomacy. Our work in the world is also based on a timeless truth: To whom much is given, much is required. We hear the call to take on the challenges of hunger, poverty, and disease and that is precisely what America is doing. We must continue to fight HIV/AIDS, especially on the continent of Africa. Called socialism in our own country.

The SOTU should last about 2 minutes and only mention that President Bush is sending in more troops no ifs, ands or buts. Don't give any opportunity for rebuttal of criticism outside the normal treasonous amounts.

Now that would get a lot of patties all waded up!

The SOTU has become nothing more than ammo for critics.

These speeches always make me mad. Not that the SotU is ever used to "stick it to" the opposition, I understand the SotU is alot of PR at this point.
But I watch, and I hate the concessions Bush makes or is making... but I tell myself: "well at least people will watch, and then see the democrat typical reaction of covering the ears and saying 'la la la la la' and "no" to everything without offering any suggestion... the American people will be outraged and make th dems pay"
Then I look around and see not only do the democrats not be called to account (not by people, not by republicans), but they actually get rewarded for their act of total cowardice.
And it fills me with a strange mixture of depression and infuriating anger.
Lucky I'm an eternal optimist.... Santorum in '08!

Extending hope and opportunity in our country requires an immigration system worthy of America with laws that are fair and borders that are secure. When laws and borders are routinely violated, this harms the interests of our country
Yet
we cannot fully secure the border unless we take pressure off the border and that requires a temporary worker program FENCE!!!
Man, this speech is really going to irritate me...

Our citizens dont much care which side of the aisle we sit on as long as we are willing to cross that aisle when there is work to be done. Our job is to make life better for our fellow Americans, and help them to build a future of hope and opportunity and this is the business before us tonight. I'm sorry Mr. President, but we do care what side of the aisle they sit on.
I have supported this man through 4 elections, but because of his refusal to recognize that power hungry liberals are just as big a threat to this country as those who want to blow us up, then I can no longer support him.
He has nothing to lose now yet he still refuses to defend himself, his party and the people who have supported him and This Texan is done with him.
And while I'm bitching, it doesn't take a military expert to know how two helicopters were shot down in two days and who is responsible for it. If he doesn't retaliate against Iran I am going to start calling for our troops to come home if he isn't going to allow them to defend themselves.

I'm going to have to take an extra dose of high blood pressure medication before I watch.

As I said on another thread, the State of the Union, the SOTU, has become the Shopping List of the Union, the SLOTU.

On comprehensive immigration reform:

Yet
we cannot fully secure the border unless we take pressure off the border and that requires a temporary worker program.
New sales pitch for the same comprehensive immigration package (that is amnesty for illegals for those in Rio Linda).

The Dems only care about getting a ballot in the illegals' hands, which means citizenship, which means amnesty. If wholesale amnesty is what it takes glut the maw of the OBL with cheap labor, than GWB is fine with it, though it means the ruination of America in general, and the GOP in particular.

It will be interesting to see what Bush says and/or does to further alienate his base.
