It's time for Congress to re-assert its sole constitutional authority to declare war. But do the newly empowered lawmakers have the courage?Who does this idiot want them to declare war on now?

Had there been a formal declaration of War to begin with (as required by the Constitution), none of this would be an issue.

Helen Thomas is a worthless and bigoted old bag. Congress exercised its power to declare war under the Constitution. The "authority to use military force" was contained in the Patriot Act, passed in September, 2001. Any competent reporter would know that.
Ah, but it's Helen Thomas. Ne-VER-mind.

The only power Congress has is to cut off the money and they aren't going to do that, sorry battleaxe.

The majority of the American people, according to the polls, and a growing sentiment in Congress, cannot be shrugged off as a committee. Wrong. When you are ineligible to run for office and your VP is not a consideration for '08, you have the political freedom to ignore anything but the constitution.....and it says he's CIC.
