As for me, I am a gunowner, as is my Right

When have your gun rights recently been threatened, seriously? Not even the Dems have made gun control a major issue in any national campaign since 2000.

That is because support for gun control by Al Gore crippled the Dems for half of a decade after that election. Are you really willing to take that chance by running an anti-gun Republican such as Rudy or Mitt? It would be the single most unpragmatic thing Republicans do.

My rights are threatened every time the Congress is in session, every time someone at the Treasury Department promulgates some new rule, every time some agency somewhere confiscates the arms of law abiding citizens, and anytime some hotsh*t East Coast mayor runs around the country trying to impose New York law extrajurisdictionally by using tax money from his jurisdiction to bring lawsuits to cow and bankrupt people complying with Federal Law in a heavily regulated industry who live over a thousand miles away for political capital.

That is just the more notable recent stuff.

You see, anything which flies in the face of a Right anywhere in this country flies in the face of that Right everywhere in this country.

Anyone who would be POTUS and not appoint a SCOTUS Justice who interprets the 2nd (rightfullly) as an individual right is an ongoing threat to my Rights.

Not to mention other 'threats' in my lifetime (usurpations and infringements) in 1968, 1986, and 1994, and a host of 'findings' and regulatory changes in between.

You want me to go on? Some of my guns antedate 1934, which is another number we gunowners know. Since 2000? Sheesh, a mere eyeblink.

Every session of Congress there is a host of anti-gun bills either introduced or ready to toss in the hopper the moment some wacko somewhere causes an incident, whether that be done with a gun or a truckload of explosives.

Eternal vigillance is the price of liberty.

If I wait until the threat is at my doorstep, I have not been vigillant.

Currently, I think we can rely on the president to veto gun control not tied to other bills such as spending bills. I would not bet on it, however.

With a Dem controlled Congress and Republicans (obviously) still not 'getting it', there is no way I want an anti-gun POTUS, I don't care what letter you put after their name.

As for other, social issues Rudy is way too far left for my tastes, too.

Anyone for killing babies in the womb and taking the guns from law abiding folks is not getting my vote, period.
