Aaaaah. Poor babies. Hey! I live in Tucson, AZ and we are freezing here. No one expected such cold weather as what we are receiving. My most recent gas bill is $275.00. I say that I should get reimbursed by FEMA and Bush. After all, it's their fault. Don't believe me? Ask Gore.

I would think that with rebuilding going on, there should be some jobs there. Am I wrong?

Not all the facts are being presented in this article ... FEMA & HUD are responsible. I'm also guessing State and Local agencies are in no way responsible either.
Otherwise lacking additional information I'm guessing Congress voted a lifetime allotment for "free everything" to Katrina victims. No expiration date.

How dare you inject rational thought into this?
These people most likely had no heat or air-conditioning before Katrina, and probably aren't used to this after leaving the Ritz-Carlton in Houston...

I bet finding money for beer and cigs is not a problem!

People can't afford a pair of thermal underwear? Gee, what is the country coming to?

Underlying caption: "New Orleans Saints fans Derek Lawson, left, and Tiffany Poche watch the Saints play the Chicago Bears in the NFC Championship football game in Arabi, La., Sunday, Jan. 21, 2007. The Saints lost 39-14. They were watching the game in the FEMA trailer of David Watson, whose home was flooded by Hurricane Katrina. (AP Photo/Pat Semansky)"
.....I guess they can always torch the big screen.

Better yet... Get in the Gulf. The water there is like 80° year round. Don a wetsuit and go for a swim.

I would think that with rebuilding going on, there should be some jobs there. Am I wrong? You are correct. I have several friends who work construction that have been down there for awhile. Working 10-14 hrs a day and making excellent money.
The folks mentioned in this article are the lazy people who have come to depend on the government for just about everything. I'm sure an honest day's work is totally repugnant to them.
