They have gotten up on the House floor...but the Dems aren't allowing committee markups or amendments to ANY bill...so anything that is said by the GOP carries not just minority status but NO WEIGHT

Thanks .. I thought that's what was going on

BTW..I head someone from Cong. Quarterly on C-span a little while ago..and she said that this bill and others having to do with ethics SHOULD have been on the Ethics Bill last week...and they have seen "other" things in the Senate bill that was "forgotten" in the House bill.

Thanks for the info

You watch .. there will be a few middle of the night stunts

Duncan Hunter, John Boehner and some other GOP House members had a presser with some suggestions regarding the oversight of Pres. Bush's new plan for Iraq.

They wanted a committee made up of equal dems and GOP to talk to the White House once a month to see how the Iraqis are doing in meeting the benchmarks that Pres. Bush has put in his plan.

Nancy Pelosi said, "NO>..the Democrats will take full oversight and how the POTUS accountable..because the GOP had their chance before last Nov."

Because of the special trust and confidence we expect of them, anyone elected to the US Congress found guilty of corruption or bribery shall be publically executed.

During the time Congress is in session, those elected shall reside in barracks or dormitories provided by the government. When not in session they shall return to the State from which elected. Congress shall meet in Omaha, Nebraska. Washington DC shall remain the ceremonial seat of government.

Because representation of the people was not meant to be a career, congress shall not receive any pension or retirement benefits.

I can't post what I wish would befall her. She needs to be totally disgraced.

Republicans - hello? Where are you? They should be making a huge stink about this.

Are you kidding? The RNC and legislators just sit around collecting their paychecks.

I'm strictly non-partisan on this. Any elected official convicted of a felony in connection with his duties in office should lose all pension and benefits. Period.

Sheila Jackson-Lee was up on the House floor a little while ago saying she favors cutting all funds to the troops...and that the best way to keep them safe is to bring them home.

She said it twice..."I want all funds for the troops to be stopped".

ME, too....I don't care who it is...they should lose their pension...but, none of them should get a "grace period" until Jan 2009!

But you watch, she'll be on the aisle all smiles when POTUS makes his entry tomorrow night. I hope he walks right past her.

Here we go again. Has anyone ever asked this ignorant witch: What is the sense of having a military if we don't actually employ them???

In fact, it should be retroactive to, say, 1959. That would even get Byrd.

Yeah...Sheila is usually one of the ones that gets there 2 hours early to get an aisle seat.

I don't understand why...because then they sit on their hands when he says anything...don't clap...maybe even boo.

What do you guys want to bet that all semblance of propriety is gone tomorrow night..and the Dems not only won't clap...but there WILL be BOOS.

Also...Pelosi will have that stupid surgeon attached smile the WHOLE time! I get headaches just watching her smile will all of her teeth showing for the longest periods of time!!
