No, of course not, but you have to weasel your way out. (Although at one time, I made so much stink they did reject me. Nowadays, methods are a little more subtle.)

You should serve on the jury.

Take a look at this website, and print out the information that will help you and the other jurors come to a fair verdict. Print a bunch of them and pass them out to prospective jurors.

Juror's Guide

Judges and prosecutors hate for a jury to know their rights, and the rules that apply. They will try to intimidate you if you don't know the rules.

You can also use this info to get out of Jury Duty if you wish to. No Prosecutor will sit a juror that knows the rules.
