Being Governor isn't a prereq for bing President. If that were the case, Hillary, Edwards, Kerry, and Obama wouldn't be running.
I never said it was a requirement, but it helps make hem ELECTIBLE.
The last time a Senator was elected POTUS was 1960. All but one of the men elected president since 1976 was a governor and the one was vice-president for 8 years.

I would usually agree with you except the LIKELY 'Rat candidate will be a senator. I think that Saxby could get elected, but I am going to stay with my Draft Fred Thompson 08' obsession for the time being.
