I agree that he would make a good choice for Governor, but frankly I think his talents would be wasted there. There are several good conservatives that could serve in that position, but the Presidential race is sadly lacking.

Whatever his merits or lack of, is there a shred of evidence he has any desire to be President? You need a "fire in the belly" for the job in order to take the fire from the enemy, including from within your own party.
