OSLO, Sweden, Jan. 22 (UPI) -- Klas Bergenstrand, the head of Sweden's security services, has died at an Oslo hospital at the age of 61.
A statement issued by the intelligence agency Monday said Bergenstrand suffered a possible heart attack Sunday night and was declared dead at St. Gorans Hospital.
He had been director general of state security since 2004 after a long career in Sweden's judiciary and police service, The Local newspaper said.
Deputy security chief Kurt Mainstrom was named to the post of interim director of the organization.
