Christies is going to be auctioning off a Porsche designed 485-hp Auto Union D-type race car. The car was commissioned by Hitler. They are estimating $12 million.

The current record is $11 million. That was paid for a 1931 Bugatti Type 41 Royale Sports Coupe sold by Christie's in 1987.

I had always heard a Bugatti Type 57 was the most expensive classic car.
