"what makes Senator Joe Biden think the Chinese will stop trying to seize the high ground in outer space before we do, just because he says so?"

Because he talked to them. Remember that is what he Dems think. If you can have a "dialogue" the problem is solved.

Without our satellites, we have no J-DAMS, no advanced battlefield intel, and no strategic missile intel. Biden is truly the stupidest person in congress.

Sen. Biden Warns Against Space Arms Race

By DESMOND BUTLER Monday, January 22, 2007

WASHINGTON - The Senate Foreign Relations Committee chairman warned on Sunday against fostering an arms race in space after China was reported to have conducted an anti-satellite weapons test.

Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., said the test was provocative, but that the United States had ways to combat the threat posed by it.

"I don't think we should be overly worried about this at this point," Biden said. "We have ways to deal with that ability."

The U.S. said China conducted the test earlier this month in which an old Chinese weather satellite was destroyed by a missile.

Biden, who is running for president in 2008, said President Bush's policy on weapons in space need to be reviewed.

"One of the things we have to talk about is whether or not the, sort of, ideological base notion about how we deal with space and weapons in space and the use of weapons from space is something that is a path we should continue to follow," he said.

In October, Bush signed an order asserting the United States' right to deny adversaries access to space for hostile purposes. As part of the first revision of U.S. space policy in nearly 10 years, the update said the U.S. would oppose the development of treaties or other restrictions that seek to prohibit or limit America's access to or use of space.

"This is not the direction we want to go, in escalating competition in space. And we should be talking about it," Biden said.

Analysts said China's weather satellites would travel at about the same altitude as U.S. spy satellites, so the test represented an indirect threat to American defense systems.

The Chinese foreign ministry has denied knowledge of the test.

Biden appeared on "Fox News Sunday."

Biden is fine with China dominating the U.S. in space.
He's fine with them dominating us in naval forces.
Biden is fine with the terrorists dominating us in the world.
Biden doesn't believe there's anything worth fighting for.

If somebody in the world is mad at us, we should tax the rich more, and send the offended party the proceeds.

actually, what Biden is saying makes *perfect sense*.

he has, after all, announced for 2008 and wants some of the same juicy Chinese money the Clinton's got after selling out the US (thank you Loral) and causing the space race weapons problem in the first place...

as for *who* he is warning, well *DUH*, he is warning the Chinese not to start an arms race because the US Congress will step up to the plate and we'll use our experience to create a formidable space based defense and become unassailable...

whoops... strike that last sentence! that is only true in the alternate universe next to this one where the Democrats are actually patriots trying to protect and defend the United States of America...

This shows what a spineless gutless President this windbag would be. Sure, let the Chinese shoot down space satelites and do nothing about it. Unbelievable, these gutless wonders are inviting another "9/11".

Biden seems more concerned about America than the Chinese, typical leftist fool.

IMHO,
If the Chinese hope to use a "space campaign" as part of their
a war of conquest...
They will later see their first exercise in blowing up a space target
(albeit their own) as the Japanese view their hit on Pearl Harbor.

If there was ever a green light for all sorts of "dark projects"
including all manner of offensive weapons to be deployed in orbit...
The Chinese will find out they were the fools that flipped that switch.

They'll find out what "Mort ab alto" means.
In very many ugly ways.
