I don't think the article is criticizing people who don't get married; nor does it seem the author is envious of single people. The article is simply pointing out that the liberal media continually tears down the institution of marriage, which most people find the most congenial, comfortable state, a state that leads to prosperity and health for most people. Which is why the left wants to destroy it.
