So you see no conflict in that you're allowed certain liberties, refusing to rent to smokers, on your personal property while others are restricted in the use of their personal property by the hand of government?
Afterthought...How do you know that your renters aren't smoking when you're not present? Do you sniff test? (LOL)

I am opposed to smoking bans. However, I understand that the government has the duty to protect citizens against threats both real or perceived.
When a tenant moves out, I will determine if the painted walls have damages by smoke. If no, I do not return the deposit and use the money to paint the walls.
