I have been shocked that people right here on FR have posted opinions that Putin would not have ordered this hit, that Russian intelligence could just have used a bullet, that the murdered exile was involved in smuggling radioactive material, etc. I suspected from the beginning that such stories were typical KGB-style disinformation designed to exculpate Putin's mobster regime. Fortunately, the Brits do not seem to have been fooled by that nonsense. This was an old-style KGB murder all the way.
It's a foregone conclusion that the head of the KGB has people murdered. I hardly think Pootin' has turned over a new leaf.
Sorry, but Putin was right on this one.
I have no expertise in sleuthmanship, but I have to wonder if this entire episode is not related to the smuggling of a suitcase nuke trigger mechanism to the radical muslims in London. You also have to believe that by judging from the Brits response in handling this situation, that they are not going to brush this under the rug. They may slap a coat of paint on this to give it a different look, but they are probably onto the reason for this situation.
We seem to have alot of russian apologists on this website. They came out of the woodwork back when the russians botched the Moscow Theatre hostage ahem "rescue".
