Yes she will and the only way to stop them is for all of us on the right to unite

There is, IMHO, no other choice. President Bush, and I am thankful for his efforts, is doing a courageous job of confronting a great threat. I will be praying that his new strategy bears timely fruit. But now history will probably have to vindicate him; we must now turn our attention to the best prospects for 2008. It will take time, and there is no time to waste. Candidates with positions and pasts that trouble the various factions on the Right need to be viewed in the collective light of who has the most realistic chance of keeping as much of the Conservative agenda as possible on the government table.

I am devoting more and more of my time to thinking about this issue and will be concentrating on discussing the 2008 nominee situation with fellow Pubs.

I will pick who I think is the best candidate in the primaries

When the General Election rolls around .. I will 100% support whoever that candidate is

We cannot play games by splitting the vote .. it will only pave the way for Hellary in the WH

This is where Newt shines, and where he is needed.

I totally agree. Newt has an important part to play, but I can't picture him in an elective office at this point. He has done wonderful things in the House, and now he can perform a very valuable service advising etc..

LOL...I just saw Biden asked if Hillary is beatable..and he said yes..but, when Chris Wallace wanted him to tell him why he feels that way, he balked.

Is he intimidated??? Well...he sure likes to go around saying how much smarter he is than anyone else ...especially Pres. Bush...but he can't even say why Hillary might not be the best candidate for POTUS??

And this guys is running for POTUS, he better get some cojones...

Very true, Look at how many lunatic Reporters are out in the middle of a Hurricane or a Blizzard telling us what we already know. If there is a flood, they are out in their slickers and hip boots. Totally bogus....The old timers can tell you what the Winter will be like. Harsh or mild,or normal, come early and stay late, come late and leave early just by the Color and look of the fur on a Caterpillar's back. These people were always right, so they had a heads up and stacked more logs for the fireplace or Furnace, ordered more Fuel Oil, Coal, etc. They did not have Meteorologists with Computers, they had Nature tell them. They knew what it meant when creeks were full in the winter, and what growths on particular sides of Trees indicated. These were Conservative People who loved Nature and utilized it, needed it for their survival, worked as one. We are losing these sort of People, and I sure am sorry that I did not pay more attention to my Parents, and the Older Folks that helped us all survive without a whimper.

Scratch that....I just figured out why he didn't.

ALL of the POTUS candidates are going to run against Pres. Bush...not each other.

Poor Pres. Bush, he is on his way out..and he will be a pinata for 9 or so dems...and 9 or so GOP candidates for POTUS!!!

If I were Pres. Bush, I would grab that pinata stick and start hitting THEM, before they get a chance to hit him any more.

I concur, and Mo1 has described my approach. Hillary, Obama, Edwards, and whomever the Dims nominate will surely be the far greater of two evils on any topic one wishes to consider-- gun control, the WOT etc..

Thanks, Anita. Your "media nuggets" are quite simply the best.

Katie Couric's use of the word, "jocular" (as Rush Limbaugh observed during one of his programs this week) is very curious, indeed. Does she really NOT know the meaning of the word or was she just trying to be cute? Ah, the inscrutable perky one.

I was still a Democrat then, but voted against Carter and for Reagan, no contest. I waited until 1992 to change to Pubbie, and have never looked back..

To: Mo1; All

Watching Newt...I don't think he has missed one negative adjective to describe everyone in Washington or Iraq..except the military.

I guess he knows better than to judge them harshly..but when he hints that the DEMs could go in and FIX the Defense Dept., the State Depts..and all of the other government departments that would/could have influence in Iraq..

HE is delusional about what kind of FIX they would have.

I think it is the remnants of years of CLINTONISTA that has put it in the shambles it is in...and then Pres Bush is forced to change everything because of 9/11 and the 9/11 Commission....but, Newt acts like he thinks the dems could.

He also sounds like he is half in love with Hellary...

GAG ME, Newt!

Now..Mo1...IF he gets the nomination for the GOP I will vote for him...but I will be puking as I do it...just like I would with McCain or Brownback.

I do not think that there will be enough States that are willing to do that, because it goes against the original thoughts of the Planners, and does not sound very much like United States doctrine. I thought I read somewhere that Colorado was going to attempt this. I could be wrong, it was a Western State, cannot remember, it was not discussed much.

I saw Newt. He was awfully negative...but, it would be hard to point to where in his analysis he was wrong--Washington political culture has gone awry.
