Did you notice in that interview that Carter said he STILL has as his goal, to bring peace in Israel??? Carter still has a blind spot as far as Iran is concerned. As long as the Iranian/Hezbollah/Hamas alliance is bent on Israel's destruction, there can be no peace deal. But I guess Carter's respponse would be that we need to make nice to the Iranians - just as he ordered when they invaded our embassy.

This has been problematic for decades and it may be unrealistic to think it will change quickly.
Agreed. The havoc that the Clinton administration visited upon the intelligence and defense apparatus ought to be shouted out at every opportunity by the Right. Perhaps Newt has found an issue that might pay dividends for him before he makes his "decision by Labor Day."
The Rat's are very vulnerable here; and if Newt can again cast himself in the light of a reformer with some distance from his Pub colleagues, he may yet stir things to his advantage.

I expect her to disappear for a face lift to get rid of the bags under her eyes, she is starting to take on the same appearance Bill has with drooping cheeks.

Did you see the announcement video, that sucker was taped a while back... while the shrubbery was plushAli...... heres thinking that you should be awarded The Buckhead (Fake but Accurate) Presidential Announcement Award today for spotting the flowers in the background of The Beast.
One would have thought that I would have noticed that particular item.

They will throw a big bone at Richardson and that will be it. Secretary of State? He's certainly trying to act the part now.

People don't want to hear an hour long slam against the current administration. NBC has made a conscious effort to infect all their programs, even the long-running ER with anti-Iraq, Anto-Bush retoric. I believe it's backfired on them and now they cry foul when Fox Network starts trouncing them in the ratings room.

One of the French Revolutionaries, (maybe Danton?), once said he enjoyed going to the Salons so he could watch the Aristocracy mine the ground under their own feet.
Frankly I am not enjoying watching our self styled aristocracy do the same thing. Maybe that is because unlike Danton, rational Americans realize there ARE people in the world more then willing to chop our heads off.

Well, from the snips I'm hearing today from the State of the Union address, it appears the President is planning to go "Democrat Lite" as well. I hope I am wrong.

Last year, or the year before that, Newt said he was more interested in his ideas being addressed by candidates than running for office himself. He acknowledged his long-shot status of winning and said he was more interested in candidates adopting his positions.
So far, we have our so-called moderate Republicans in the race. Once a few conservatives get in it we may very well see Newt's ideas take hold and Newt deciding to support rather than run.

Mrs. C. or Mrs. R-C won't do anything that isn't scripted, tested against a focus group, and memorized Correct .. but she does have her moments of going off script
She is a you-tube moment away from putting her foot in her mouth
I sure hope anyone on our side who follows her campaign tours have their video/cell phone camera ready at all times

That was another observation by Larry Sabbato on Fox with Brian Williams, he said many times front runners are that in the eyes of the media and not the public. This is because the Washington "Poobahs" have chosen sides in the race Yes ........ nearly no one would have heard of Obama. My, I even saw Old Charlie Rangel call him a "Rock Star" this morning on TV.
The whole deal is a HUGE charade.
And by the way.......... why in the world is the Presidential election of 2008 starting so, so early?
This is more than absurd!

Bubba is weak, too much wine women and coke, that's why they need oblama, to prop the old guy up while he plays bubbas sock puppet. Bubba and oblama will be a huge draw.
Bubba still has a line of crap that is so long no one could even follow it much less figure out how it applies to an election,it'll be song, revelry and kum ba yah, there will be little political content,it's like doing a rock concert for 120 days in a row, that will be the strategy.
Why bore their constituents with crazy stuff like political party platforms, none of that.It will be a dimwit slogan night after night until Nov. The further away from issues they go the better. And no one can stray from the issues like Bubba.

Did you see the interview with Newt the other night? He stated that his organization has come up with a lot of problem solving solutions for USA and the world situation and are sharing it with all candidates and potential candidates on BOTH sides of The Aisle..

It will not be Hillary/Obama. It will be Hillary Richardson. Obama brings nothing to the table. Hillary will get the blacks. Hillary will get Illinois. Richardson gives Hillary Hispanics, Experience and New Mexico. And maybe other western states like Colorado.Good analysis.

All those positions will be sold to the highest bidder, who knows who will be where, it really wouldn't matter anyway.
our job is to see it doesn't happen.

#164, you are certainly right about a bumper crop after a disaster like that. Beginning with Hurricane Andrew back in 1992 where there was a lot of vegetation destroyed within six months after the disaster there was double the new Growth all over the desecrated areas, and Year after year the New Growth went wild in Nature's way of replacing what was destroyed. What Nature destroys, nature rebuilds, and how....I cut back my 2 Bougainvillea Bushes twice, and they have grown huge again. Wacko Environmentalists just do not understand, and never will. Humans just can sit back and watch. One big problem, the allergists all over Florida have a lot more Patients with more serious allergies.
