I have decided, after much prayerful consideration, to consider a bid for the Republican nomination for the presidency.
I am running to spread hope and ideas. We are a blessed nation at an important crossroads. War, corruption, disintegrating families, and for some, hopelessness, tear at the American Dream. We need hope and ideas.
I am running for America to be of service in a crucial time of trial.
Ours is an exceptional nation. A nation between two oceans made up of people from every nation on earth. A great nation united by our ideals. But we are a great nation because of our goodness. If we ever lose our goodness, we will surely lose our greatness.
We believe in a culture of lifethat every human life is a beautiful, sacred, unique child of a loving God.
We believe in justice for allat all times.
We believe in liberty.
But the central institutions that best transmit these valuesthe family and the cultureare under withering attack.
We must renew our families and rebuild our culture!
We need to revitalize marriage, support the formation of families, and encourage a culture of commitment.

BINGO.
What do you think?
Is Brownback a viable candidate? What are his chances of winning?
No. He's mushy on illegals. That'll cost him the conservative support and he's too conservative to get the RINO's support. They already have mittmcguili.
I'm really tired of the complete absense of Republican candidates who are both fiscally and socially conservative.
You nailed it. Reagan's coalition had both elements.
Would you go into politics, even with a spotless record and spotless personal life (which virtually no one has), knowing that the higher you climb on the ladder, the more the MSM will throw mud at you ("He failed to send his mother cards on Mother's Day on at least three occasions!")?
The only people who are crazy enough to pursue higher office today are thick-skinned socialist swine that the MSM will permit to get past their filters, or weak moderates like Bush 41 and 43. And then you get vilified as though you were Adolf Hitler (who was also a socialist, although that "little" detail always gets over looked).
I honestly believe that within the next twenty years, if things keep going like they are right now, liberals will start sending conservatives off to "re-education camps". If we let them ban our guns, they'll be able to do it without paying a price of any sort for it. The only thing that may stop that is if they pass the "Fairness Doctrine" to shut us up so they don't have to hear us.
These people, despite calling us fascists, are the real fascists in our world. Think about how much like the old Soviet Union our politics have gotten to be, at least on the Democrat side of the aisle. Bizarre, insane theories of science based purely on politics. Morals turned completely upside down. The vile, bitter hatred of religion (as an impediment to their socialist utopia here on earth). I could go on, but you've probably already stopped reading by now anyway.
Sam Brokeback?
It looks like he is about to join the cut-and-run Republicans in a proposal to leave Iraq, too.
If he affixes his name to such a policy he is finished and won't get out of the gates.
Somewhere between zilch point squat and none. Even with the strong support and money of Tom Monaghan Sam's best shot is for the Veep spot. And considering the current crop of front runners he really has a chance for that.
Prognosis Negative
Absolutely ZERO. He should be one of Beetle Bailey's sidekicks.
I know this is stupid, but people are going to hate his name. It sounds goofy.
I think he's very peculiar looking to boot.
BROWNBACK=ZERO
Zip. Zero. Nada.
Very slim.
I'm convinced his pro-life beliefs are genuine. He seems to have a pro-Second Amendment record, but that may be more "Kansas positioning" than core belief. As for illegal immigration, Big Meatpacking in the western part of the state, and small businesses in the east are illegal friendly. Sam can't build a presidential plank on cracking down, cause after he loses, he'll have some 'splainin' to do at the next Senate election.
I really have no reason to believe he would be a bad President. I just don't think he has that Ronald Reagan appeal on camera. We need someone who is willing to say, "There you go again!" - What I mean is, It's OK to nominate a nice guy, But he darn sure better be able to explain and DEFEND conservative ideas.
Brownback chances - slim and none.
Well, he supports the thirty million (or sixty million or whatever) new non-english speaking non-highschool graduate immigrants that the amnesty bill will result in. That ought to be enough to put Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Florida and Colorado firmliy in the democrat column. He supports tying illegal workers from Mexico into our social security system. Enough said.
Which is exactly why Mike Pence needs to be a Republican nominee. He's articulate, he's got the look, and he stand up for what he believes. And he's a freakin' conservative!
But no, they weren't about to elect him Speaker of the House.
Slim to none.
Next!
