My Democratic friends tell me they don't want Hillery to run because she is 1) probably not able to win, and 2) is too divisive. They are hoping a more acceptable person without the high negatives becomes the party's nominee.

But they will slavishly line up and vote for her anyway. In the meantime, Hillary is designing her campaign specifically to mellow out the negatives. By summer of 2008, after a year of the media calling her a "moderate," "centrist" even "conservative" the average schlub will be saying "Hey she's fine. Don't know why those republicans hate her so much. They just don't want a woman for president.".
