A Hilton hotel outside Washington has been closed for a top-to-bottom scrubbing after 15 employees and more than 100 guests were sickened by the highly contagious norovirus, a hotel spokesman said Friday.
Hotel officials first heard reports of sick guests Wednesday and contacted Fairfax County health authorities, said Jim Cree, the director of sales and marketing at the hotel near Dulles International Airport. Officials confirmed it was norovirus Thursday night, he said.
Outbreaks of norovirus, which causes vomiting and diarrhea, are common on cruise ships and in places like hotels, prisons and nursing homes.

We had this a couple of weeks ago. My dh got sick around Christmas (thankfully he was better before the 25th). I got it 2 weeks ago Thursday. I got sick one time but I felt cruddy for a couple of days after that and it took several days for me to feel 100%. That Saturday, our 2.5 year old got it and she was sick 3 or 4 times and then was not 100% for a few days. Our son got it a couple of days later, same course as 2.5 y.o. Several hours later, the 8 y.o. got sick and stayed home from school the next day and then felt better. I washed this house in bleach water, washed lots of sheets, towels, and clothes and we've been fine ever since.
I guess we got off easy compared to some!
The issue isn't this particular virus. It's ALL the diseases that 'we' are now being exposed too since the ILLEGAL INVASION started en masse.
BEDBUGS in 4 Star Hotels, e Coli outbreaks in the food chain, TB - once 'wiped out' in the US is back BIG, then PLAGUE, Leprosy, Typhoid, Ebola, Hemorrhagic Fervor, etc, etc, etc, etc. - all hitting the US - some 'minor' (ha), some major, all since the 3rd World invasion. 20-25 years ago these diseases did NOT exist in the USA.
The fact is that personal HYGIENE is an unknown where they come from, i.e.: - Mexico, Central America, and Africa. And with their 'quaint' customs and oddball religions - like living with chickens and livestock then sacrificing them in their yards, it's only going to get WORSE, unless we stop it. There wasn't a dam Health Inspection and Quarantine at Ellis Island for kicks.
Sheesh, you can't legally bring in a banana from the Bahamas but 10 million illegals a year are 'allowed' to come in with only God knows what disease.
Oh, poo! I was hoping to stay there....
The norovirus nearly killed one of my kids back in 2002...triggered a cytokine storm reaction like the current bird flu and an asthma attack on top of it in the ER and there was no history of asthma, just seasonal allergies that had been treated.
My kids got the norovirus from classmates who went on a cruise and brought the virus back into the class. The entire school got it and there was no issue regarding " not following standard kitchen protocols."
This is a highly contagious virus, not a bacteria that is spread by unsanitary cooking procedures. You just have to spend some time breathing in the environs of it (or having your eyes be the "sponge" that allows exposure if not the lungs.)
