Well if Shawn didn't talk to Oprah , there would be 2000 + reporters stalking Shawn to get a statement .

By going on Oprah they can help to avoid the other reporters .

Shawn's family dedicated their lives , & spent ALL of their own money helping missing kids .

Shawn's family worked 24-7 to bring Shawn home PLUS They gave great Comfort to the families of other kidnapped children !

Shawn's dad LOST his own leg , while being involved in a search for someone elses's missing kid !

No problem Guenevere, the body language of the boy said an awful lot in my opinion.

Don't get me wrong this young man has been tramatized to a level hard to image. I just find it hard to fathom why they would go on national television so soon.

Shawn is showing others who may be afraid to come home that loving parents await their return. He is doing a good thing.

Showing that there is nothing to be ashamed of. That parents will love you no matter what.

To add to the burden of this family and this child is too much. They've suffered enough and I consider them brave to want to reach out. Show the world that no one ought to be ashamed of what happened to them.
