Neutering a bull is a speaker's job
Washington Times ^ | 1-19-07 | Wes Pruden

Nancy Pelosi, the new speaker of the House, has discovered what's wrong with the rest of us. We don't know how to tell time, and she does. Mzz Pelosi and her "new Democrats" have just about completed their legislative agenda of "the first 100 hours." By the arithmetic the rest of us learned in grade school, hundreds of hours have elapsed since the clock started ticking with the convening of the 110th Congress on Jan. 4, but Democrats new and old march to a distant drummer, a confusing cadence and a stopped clock.

It depends on what the definition of "is" is.

From January fourth until now, 15 days has elapsed.
If we look at business days, 11 days has elapsed.

Figure the congress works eight hours a day and you have 88 hours. Minus the two days they weren't in session due to MLK and National Championship it becomes 72 hours.

What amazed me is that it took them 72 hours to say they completed absolutely nothing in 42 hours.

I suspect those bulls are looking at Pelosi with the thought: "Bring it on!"

(Only in Congress is someone employed to speak for a speaker.)

And no one speaks FOR the people!

First hundred, last hundred or any in the middle will no doubt be remarkably the same in terms of accomplishments.

Surely, the longest they can stretch out the "first 100 hours" is 100 sitting days.

(I know I'm being naive here -- but, I just don't know how.)

When the Democrats went to the well for the ideas that they were "for," instead of merely being "against" the President on everything, they realized they only had their "15 minutes of fame" and nothing else.

So the mainstream media had to fill in the other 99 hours and 45 minutes with Cindy Sheehan, Jimmy Carter, OJ and the usual stuff.

The corrupt hyper-dishonesty I have come to fully expect from the despicable Nazi Pelosi and the rest of the democrat party vermin now infesting Congress.
