Grassroots Lobbying "Reform" Bill Fails in Senate
Senate/C-SPAN 2

The Senate just voted for the Bennett Amendment to strip the ill-conceived Grassroots Lobbying "Reform" provision of the Ethics Reform Bill, 55-43. The vote was pretty much party-line, with some exceptions (Landreiu, Dorgan and Bayh voted for the amendment, for example).
This provision could have had far-reaching implications by potentially forcing grassroots organizations who asked members of the public to call their Congressmen to register as lobbyists. Some articles said it could even have applied to Internet bloggers.
Unless this ill-conceived provision gets put back in by the Conference Committee, it's dead for now.

Hmmmm - but they have never responded to "grassroots" pleas before???? This makes no sense unless some of their liberal cohorts were alarmed OR unless they perceived this issue could really and truly backfire on their 2008 Presidential candidates because the stink that was being raised would NOT die down....

Our troops are fighting to win freedom and democracy for people in faraway lands. At home, tyrants with a D after their names, are trying to strip away our basic freedoms for political speech and democracy.
Certain people need to be tarred and feathered for this crude attack on the founding principles of this republic. Rabid terrorists attacked the republic on 9/11 with weapons to kill. Certain politicians attack the republic with this type of legislation. Where is the massive outcry from patriots coast to coast. This is not a partisan issue, it is an attack on all Americans.

Casey, Tester, Webb, McCaskill, all voted Nay. Hopefully this will be remembered and repeated over and over to the voters when these guys run for re-election.

I don't need to call my senators since they both voted for it. Allard and Salazar.

I think we need a Repubbie-Traitor-Tracking scorecard.
Start with the Gang of 14, then keep track of those repubbie's who continue to keep destroying the Republican Party.
WITHOUT the Senate failures since 2002, Bush and the party would have kept their momentum despite MSM bias.
Instead - at every policy point and appointment and turning point, a very small group of repubbies STOPPED the Republican Party cold. Dead cold. And made it worse by allowing the MSM to "bi-partisian" us (America) to death.

I'd bet easily more than 90% of Americans have no idea what this is all about.

That puts an end to the lie that Tester, Webb and Casey are "moderate" or "conservative".

McCaskill (D-MO)
Tester (D-MT)
Brown (D-OH)
Casey (D-PA)
Whitehouse (D-RI)
Webb (D-VA)
Elections have consequences. It sure didn't take these new Democratic Senators any time to start acting against our freedoms.

Would like to hear from more sources that this heinous measure was indeed taken out of this "ethics" bill. Anybody out there know for sure? Still am hearing chatter that it's still in there....
