Health insurance is not a right UNLESS you are an illegal alien then you get free medical care. Average ER waiting room time in Tucson - 5 hours. If you go to one you see very quickly why. If you want free healthcare denounce your American citizenship.

Forgive me for I am a Canadian (and I work in the field). When you crunch the numbers the percentage of GDP we pay on healthcare is far lower than the US (check out OECD stats). We also have a lower rate of infant mortality, greater longevity, and although "wait times" dominate the news, access to care is still universal. Proactive care and health education are very high.
That being said, medicare was introduced to protect those with catastrophic illness. It's gone way to far in its coverage and mandate. The pendulum needs to shift back to where basic care is available, catastrophic and chronic care are focal, and some "pay in" is made so that the public values it and is far less likely to abuse it.
Between health care administration costs, insurance administration, litigation and malpractice fees, no one in the US is getting a square deal. Someone has to come in and clean up - the gov't is the only one with the power to do this.

I hear that, I got into a car accident with my family enroute to Tucson from Ft. Huachuca, I waited from about 7:30 to roughly 2 PM before the Doctor ever saw me, this was with a gash in my arm that required 18 stitches.
I call BS.
What the Declaration of Independance says is:
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
The Declaration of Independance uses the phrase "among these are", not "these are limited to".
False premise to base this argument on.
No joke, my deductable went in 2 years from 500 to $1500 and jumped 18% come Feb. to $2,500. I am so angry I can't stand it. I am in good health and hardly met my $500 much less a $2,500 deductable.
