In 1945, my husband's grandparents were in a bomb shelter in Augsburg. His grandmother was praying so loudly for the Americans to come her husband was afraid someone would turn them in. We would level entire cities, we broke the will of the people. And that was expected if we wanted to win. Now, every time we bomb an apartment building, we have some embedded reported interviewing arabs with axes to grind and showing a kid's shoe laying on the ground as if we are evil ba$tards. How dare we level an entire building when terrorists were only in one room? Is this coverage affecting how we fight the war? I am not an expert, but I think it does. I wish we were doing more, I certainly don't want us to lose.

I'm afraid that it will probably take another attack to wake most Americans up. I remember the first couple of days after 9/11 when the country was still in shock. If George Bush had sent bombers over to the Middle East and carpet bombed Iraq and Iran, I doubt if anyone - including the libs - would have objected. Within a few days the luster had worn off and the Left was back to it's usual Blame America First mantra.
When it happens again (not if, but when)those first few days will be our only opportunity to do some real damage to our enemies. If we wait a couple of weeks - then it will be too late.
You are right - we need to fight this war to win.

That's it in a nutshell.(Loved your reply.) Highway of death redux...'level entire cities, break the will of the people'...and stop Iran from funneling terrorists and weaponry into Iraq.
