George W Bush has set the date and time for history to remember him.
He has abandoned his Border Patrol agents who made a mistake and will spend over 10 years in prison paying for a mistake he could have taken care of.
Dubya if any friend of yours runs I will convince my friends to vote against them.
Sorry FReepers, that means if Dubya rec's a conservative I will have to vote Lib to be good to my word.
I walked for Dubya, voted and campaigned for Dubya, but if these BP agents go to prison I will vote against anything Dubya recommends.
I have seen burglars of a habitation get probation.
Murderers get 10 years.
This sentence is inappropriate. Jorje best wake up

Replace the agents with a minefield, some 'don't go there' signs and razor wire.Mines don't answer questions and aren't susceptible to tricky questions in cross examination. They don't need unions, pensions, contracts, or legal teams.
As to the jury,I'm sure the judge told the jury they may only consider "the facts of the case" and that they cannot let their conscience, opinion of the law,or the motives of the defendants affect their decision... we wouldn't want jurors to know their rights.

"The thing is, the DA didn't have to prosecute this case; he has the discretion to NOT bring charges if it's in the public interest."
U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton and George Bush go back a long way. He was a member of his administration in Texas and a member of the Bush transition team in 2000.

Do we really want cops or border patrol agents acting as unsupervised judges and juries, shooting at people that are no threat to them?
What makes you think a drug dealer pointing a gun at someone is not a threat to that person? Unless, of course you believe a drug dealer over a border agent.
This was a showtrial and nothing else. The fact that the drug dealer who testified was actually busted smuggling several hundred pounds of pot after being given immunity to testify in this case and was given immunity again shows what a sham this trial was. In addition, the judge told the jury foremen that she would not allow a hung jury (which should get them a new trial but will not because of the amount of corrupt individuals involved.
There is a special place in Hell already reserved for Johnny Sutton for this and of course, his involvement in the House of Death.

"I'm ashamed of this government. Whether it's our troops in Iraq or our border guards doing their jobs the pimps in Washington are too damn quick to throw these people under the bus.Maybe it's time to throw the pimps in Washington under the bus !!!"
How confident is Bush that in two years we will have forgotten this?

No judge can FORCE a verdict. They often ask a jury to go back and try again but they cannot force one. If they did, that would be an automatic new trial. In fact, there would be a new trial if jury members said that they were coursed in any way.
Did the driver have a gun? First I`ve heard about that. Was it introduced into evidence?
Why did the two agents try to hide the shells? Why didn`t they report it?
God love our cops, troops and Border Patrol, but, they can`t be law breakers and 12 members of the jury said they are.

Why didn`t the defense attorneys call the Doctor to the stand? Even if the Doc was in Iraq, he would have been forced back to testify.
Why didn`t this Joe Loya bring his information to the defense? Why didn`t they use it?

It was so hard to watch. Those poor wives and 6 children have had their lives disrupted for years because of a lousy illegal drug smuggler -- and our government encouraged this! They could have left the smuggler in Mexico, but no, they had to seek him out and give him immunity! Our government is not working on our behalf but on Mexico's. It's disgusting.

Perhaps you should post somehting a little less erroneous. This post is chock full of falsehoods.

Illegal aliens are not subject to the jurisdiction of the United States in reguard to it's Constitional protections. If they were, the US govenment would not be able to do voluntary returns. If illegal aliens had a 4th amendment right then invading armies would have to be tried in a court of law. Rather than be repulsed on sight.

It is a war zone, this is so upsetting. I am very concerned about America when we cave in to the enemy and favor them over those trying to do their job to protect us, to follow our laws that have been in place about illegals for a long time.
Very sad.
