I hope that he does.

He ought to.

But the "base" is moving on. My dear wife says it's not worth voting anymore.

Compare the way things have gone under Bush vs. under Clinton and she's got a point.

Gay marriage. Universial healh care coming. Television is a cesspool. Made in China junk everywhere. Factory closings everywhere.

What did Bush do for us anyway? (I know the "judge argument" but the Supremes will never rule on firearms or abortion or anything else "reactionary" - they are too jealous of their power and prerogatives).

To show your unhappiness by not voting is only going to make things worse.

Montgomery County Maryland...it was reported on the news yesterday that the county council is mulling giving day laborers business loans.

I suppose the idea is to get them into the system and turn them into bonafide taxpayers.

Now an illegal can obtain a loan from the local government to say...buy a van...and become his own general painting contractor..."hire" his buddies and BAM...a competitor is born.

Ain't America great?

Based on the list you just provided, you and your wife have absolutely no idea what the role of the President is anyway. Do you really believe Bush is responsible for States approving gay marriage, for the content of television, for cheap goods from China and for the nonexistent Universal Health care? Where do you people come from?!?!? I firmly believe that people who aren't intelligent enough to understand the basic concepts of our Constitution and the roles it dictates for each of our branches of government should not be allowed to vote. If the intelligence of your dear wife is accurately represented by what you post on FR, then I'm actually glad she's decided to withdraw from our democratic process. She will fit right in with the rest of the valueless Americans who know more about the voting process of American Idol than they do about our democratically elected government.
