Do you think she would be forced to take a running mate with a military background?
Maybe ... but the running mate would be kept in the background just like Gore was in 1992.
There were a lot of stories in 1992 about Bill Clinton only letting Gore go to small towns in states where Clinton was sure to win. And that is exactly what Bill Clinton did.
Hillary learned everthing she knows about politics from Bill. She may not trust him but she certainly respects his political judgement and especially the way he runs campaigns.
She will run her campaign very much as Bill ran his in 1992.
In 1992 Clinton knew that he had to win some southern states so he selected a southern senator.
Hillary needs to win Florida and Ohio. She might very well select a politician from one of those two states.
The Democrats and many moderates think we are wasting our time fighting the war on terror. It has been over 5 years since we have been attacked. If we are not attacked again before the election in 2008, the voters may very well be in favor of an anti military VP.
What the polls say at the time will determine who Hillary picks for a VP.
If she is having trouble getting the nomination, look for her to pick a VP before the convention. If she has it made she will wait until she has the nomination in hand.
