Experts assessing the dangers posed to civilisation have added climate change to the prospect of nuclear annihilation as the greatest threats to humankind.
As a result, the group has moved the minute hand on its famous "Doomsday Clock" two minutes closer to midnight.

How does climate change result in a doomsday scenerio? Even if the bogus chicken little claims come true, we mostly lose the coastal areas to flooding or perhaps we go into some ice age depending on which week the prediction is made. Either way we still survive.

The days of hiding under the bed for fear of a MADD nuclear exchange are past, so these jerks have found a new way to hit a nerve and get themselves front paged in the press. Duh . . . global warming!
I have nothing but contempt for scientists who build their careers on telling people what they want to hear. The grant money rolls in, the publicity warms their little hearts, and the hell with scientific objectivity.
Is the Doomsday Clock on Standard or Daylight Savings Time?

There have been several threads. Global Warming, not to be confused with global warming, has indeed been added to total thermonuclear annihilation as a danger to humanity on earth. It is like adding hurrricane and earthquake and citric freeze relief to the job description of Civil Defense and renaming it FEMA.
When asked why they took this bold step, the pinheads of the BAS responded. "...we hope this gets us invited to the posh cocktail parties."
