Newt is brilliant and the best spokesman for the GOP/conservatives on the scene today. However, you can't say he isn't flawed. If his personal discipline were half as good as his political discipline, he'd have the nomination and the presidency in a heartbeat. As it is, he has a lot to overcome, and I'm not so sure as you that he can do it.

Most of it is contrived heavy breathing by the lefties who fear him, as they should. But I'm not as sure as you seem to have inferred I am re 'overcoming' what is out there. IMO it was the Republicans who failed re the contract, not Newt. Almost all of the rest is just smoke, not fire. For LOTS of Republicans running in the "contract" era, Newts contract was merely good talking points for their own campaign. Shameful IMO.
