Forgive my ignorance. Do I interpret this as meaning Dr Rice cannot have biological children?

If so, what a loss! Her DNA should therefore become a national treasure, c/o the Smithsonian, and every effort should be made to clone that wonderful American Patriot.

If it is instead merely a matter of time and effort, well, those are not insurmountable obstacles and there would be no shortage of volunteers.

In either case, she could solve the problem by adopting. What is good for Madonna is good for Dr Rice and is therefore good for America.

This particular attack on Dr Rice is thoroughly churlish and unworthy. Crikey: the Bad Guys will stoop to every depth, nothing is beyond Shame.

That said, Dr Rice will shrug it off with dignity. She won't stoop to their level because she has something they can never have: CLASS.

With any luck, this whole episode MIGHT shame Boxer into silence for a while...

To paraphrase Rocky's trainer, Duke, in the latest Rocky film, "What we need is blunt force trauma!" "Jab" will not do.

What does the Leftist phrase "speaking truth to power" mean anyway?

Two lies in one sentence?

Barbara Boxer is an idiot, pure and simple. She is also very rude and a liar, to boot. She is not being a real woman, as well as being a political freak. Real women respect each other, and she might as well have walked up to Condoleeza Rice and slapped her face. I know where this comes from, she's a judgmental bitch. It's a chick thing...

I was just "speaking truth to power," says Boxer.

Am I the only one who has grown exceedingly tired of hearing leftists overuse this term? Firstly, they are in control of the Congress and the Senate, so they are the ones with power, secondly, dems wouldn't know the truth if it bit them on the nose.

So coming from a leftist dem like Boxer it just seems like an abuse of words and a waste of oxygen. I thought the left was concerned about air pollution...but they keep talking. Shrug.

"Speaking truth to power" has become a favorite Leftwing phrase lately.

I think it means the same thing as putting a fire out with manure. Remember that complete morons use and thought up that inane phrase.

Babs shows the Dems real outlook on the whole terrorism issue.
"My grandchildren will not be effected."
So they think that the war on terror is a non-issue or that the war on teror should be over in a year or two.

I did google the phrase, but seeing whom the "speakers" were I didn't bother to invesitage further.

It seems to me that the phrase is used to garner sympathy (the speaker is assumed to not only have "truth" but to be "powerless"). If one has to rely on "sympathy" one therefore doubts the "power" of one's convictions.

It's an appeal to the emotion rather than an appeal to reason.

As for Ms. Boxer - I consider her a blight on my state.

There....I've spoken truth to power.

If she were really smart....she wouldn't use that phrase since as a United States Senator, and a member of the party that now controls both houses of Congress...SHE IS POWER.
