The White House on Tuesday denied it was planning a U-turn on its climate change policy by embracing a system of formal caps on greenhouse emissions, despite rising pressure from European governments to change its stance.
Although energy security will be a key theme in President George W. Bushs State of the Union address next week, the White House issued an unusually public rebuttal of rumours about its climate change policy. Tony Snow, White House spokesman, said: I want to walk you back from the whole carbon cap story...The carbon cap stuff is not accurate. Its wrong.

It's almost hilarious.
Yesterday, someone posted a thread that said Bush was going to install a Global Warming/environmental policy along side the Democrats, etc,,,,.
The ensuing hate/Bush bashing festival began in earnest. It was KNEE JERK city from end to end. Any one who challenged the validity of the article in the first place were flamed off the Internet. And, anyone defending the President was called every name in the book.
I wish the mods would ban any future hype/knee jerk type threads. because of this kind of thing.

Wait! Wait! It was printed in The Guardian. I know, I read the thread where 100 FReepers posted that this was the "last straw", etc., etc.
Well, where are they now? Huh?

I made a post predicting it. I said the Guardian didn't know what the #$%#$&^*#@$ they were talking about, but the usual suspects bought it -- hook, line and sinker.

I call 'em "The KNEE JERKERS". They get really lathered up when you disagree with them on just about everything.

I saw that thread you're referring to. Some people just love to carp. It gives meaning to their lives.

notice how they gang up on threads like that? The address bar will have a row of names the whole way across. Sort of like Hyenas, they never attack alone.

Never underestimate the ability of the DBM to roll conservatives. The further left the rag in question, the deeper the Principled True Conservatives (tm) chomp the hook. It makes no difference what the topic might be, if the Progressives plant a story, the True Conservatives (tm) are there to pick the fruit.
Years ago, I occasionally attempted to reason with them, but they so enjoy their feelings of *betrayal*, they will flame anyone who points out that the sources are suspect.

There was a letter to the editor in our local paper about that issue today by a person who has bought the entire thing, hook, line and sinker. I just stay away from those threads.
Come to think about it, I stay away from a lot of threads lately. Even the "24" thread last night was filled with some very testy freepers. I saw freepers getting jumped on for the most innocuous things.
