New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg considered a possible candidate for the White House in 2008 said he would like to see Rep. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y., toss his hat into the presidential ring. Speaking at a church in Harlem on what would have been the 78th birthday of Martin Luther King, Bloomberg referred to several potential presidential candidates and added: "My personal favorite, the person that I am going to endorse if he chooses to run as a New Yorker, is Congressman Rangel. Rangel campaigned in the Democratic primaries in 2004, and recently became chairman of the powerful House Ways and Means Committee. Said Bloomberg: "I think Congressman Rangel would be a great president.
I sure wish Rangel would get the Dem nomination !
We could run Daffy Duck against him and win.
There are a lot of places that Rangel should be pushed...into the presidential ring is not one of them.
Bloomberg is such a joke.
Just Bloomie kissing some big black ass on MLK day.
Sarcasm. Had to be sarcasm. If not, the people of NYC need to be very concerned about their mayor's mental status.
If Rangel were the Democratic nominee even the (nominally) Republican Bloomberg could beat him. In fact, he's one of the few candidates Bloomberg could beat.
With Charlie in the White House, no one would own anything.
With Rangel as Prez. (and Sharpton as VP) we'd no longer be dependent on foreign oil (we'd have major homegrown sources of grease) / sarcoffagus
