The only place in Ireland that I could find a shamrock was in the Shannon Airport gift shop...

I think that the trick to finding a shamrock is to have a lovely Irish lass help you look for it  :-)

You may look at the "lovely Irish lass" but when you make a commitment to marry her realize you've set yourself up for a lifetime of high expectations and stubbornness!

I think that's where I made my mistake. I thought I had one--my wife. She's a lovely lass, all right, and, bless her, she helped me look, but it's the Irish part. She had an Irish ancestor or two somewhere back there, and as far as she's concerned that makes her so Irish that her brogue is barely understandable. (Irish blood is strong stuff.)
