PM Olmert will agree with you, with his 14% approval rating.

"The timetable for the withdrawal remained open: Syria demanded the pullout be carried out over a five-year period, while Israel asked for the withdrawal to be spread out over 15 years."
So it will never happen.

Most likly worth the non paper it's written on.

Look at the dates, people:
"In a series of secret meetings in Europe between September 2004 and July 2006 ....... and .....
The document is described as a non-paper, a document of understandings that is not signed and lacks legal standing - its nature is political. It was prepared in August 2005 and has been updated during a number of meetings in Europe.I'd say Syria's role and actions in the events of August 2006 pretty much rendered this crock of you-know-what moot. However, it might explain some of the incomprehensible insanity of the Olmert government's actions this summer.

If she ended up in Damascus this week, I wouldn't be surprised. And if she believes she can trust Assad to honor any agreement he might make, she's an even bigger fool than she revealed herself to be this past summer.

According to the terms, Syria will also agree to end its support for Hezbollah and Hamas and will distance itself from Iran.
That's very nice on paper. How does one verify that this is so IN PRACTICE ?

Only a fool would believe the haters of Israel will cease their efforts to obliterate Israel after signing an agreement.

It is beyond me why the world continues too support these islamic jihad beetles. I wish nothing more than every islamic terrorist to be under the dirt, and for every land / person that supports them the same.
No more talks, no more negotiations, rid the world of these 7th century feeble minded parasites.
MAYBE WHEN THAT HAPPENS, THE REST OF THE WORLD WILL FIND PEACE.
Until then we are all pi$$ing in the wind.

Generations change. Even crusty, rusty ol' muzzies know when they're about to be obsoleted. When you start seeing crazy, inexplicable capitulations by entrenched, old-school Islam, you can be sure they're scrambling to stay on top of a generation that might ditch them at the earliest opportunity.

Generations change.Islam does not. Don't hold on to a straw because the ship is sinking. A moderate nazi said "I don't kill Jews, but I agree with hitler."
A moderate muslim says "I don't agree with killing Jews, but I support hammas."
I deal with these people on a daily basis. Our best of wishes mean nothing.

Another articlein Haartz says this: "Syria would also exercise its influence for a solution to the conflict in Iraq, through an agreement between Shi'a leader Muqtada Sadr and the Sunni leadership, and in addition, it would contribute to resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, including the refugee problem."
Looks like Bush knew this was coming down the pike considering the timing of this revelation and the troop surge.

Really? What about the 1978 peace agreement between Egypt and Israel (Sadat and Begin)? It's held up pretty well.
