KIRKWOOD, Mo. (AP) - While his alleged kidnapper was away at work, teenager Shawn Hornbeck apparently had access to a computer, and may have put photos of himself online and posted a chilling message on a site created by his own desperate parents: "How long are you planning to look for your son?"
A series of Web postings under the name "Shawn Devlin" - Devlin is the last name of the man suspected of kidnapping Shawn and posing as his father - came to light after Shawn's rescue from an apartment in Kirkwood last week.

No. She and Beth Holloway have that in common. It appeared this woman is no longer married and as we know Beth's fairly new husband is divorcing her. These crimes not only harm the children who are taken, it destroys most of the families involved.
Carolyn, I did follow the case, and I seem to recall that it was not the girl who stepped forward, but someone else, someone who asked directly who she was. Am I wrong about that? Is so, sorry for my mistake.
I don't know if anyone watched the presser tonight on the 17th, the media is bilge. I don't know how they do not digust themselves. What a bunch of sick MFs, they accuse this child of what they do on a daily basis. Geez, yuck!
They did everything they could to ask whether he was sexually in it with this scum. They also wanted some kind of proof that this poor kid was taken at gunpoint. They also asked if the cops could prove a gun was used. Needless to say, my husband and I would have told them all FU. You could tell the investigators were disgusted with them.

I think if anyone experienced what this boy Shawn probably did they would have a pretty dark outlook on life.
For example, the Staynor boy at age eight was forced to have sex with Parnell's girlfriend and Parnell complained about having anal sex with the Staynor boy because he bled.
Let's just say that I doubt if Devlin had Shawn there to have someone to play checkers with and If that isn't enough to give one a dark outlook on life I don't know what would.
I think I would feel in the darkness also, but hopefully he can return to the light.
I doubt if he was going to be saying on his blogs hey isn't life great.

You are correct. She was actually trying to hide who she was and only when an officer pulled her aside, away from the two kidnappers, and told her she had nothing to be afraid of and she could tell who she really was that she finally admitted who she was. Fear is pervasive with these kidnap victims.
A play on words? His or yours? And why? What he experienced seems to be something we are going to be left to imagine. Why not put it out there, so any misunderstandings will be swept away?
Carolyn, I suspect you are probably right about all of this, but I guess I'm a skeptic at heart. Sorry for that. :)

To be fair the DA did elaborate with a more thorough answer but I do not have a link. But the gist of it was, "educate yourself" in answering the reporters questions.
I can hardly stand to listen to them anymore. I wonder how many of them will stick up for this POS. Probably many.
