Iraq hanging video shown to reporters
BAGHDAD, Iraq - The official video of hanging of Saddam Hussein's co-defendants screened for reporters Monday showed the former leader's half brother lying headless below the gallows, his severed head several yards away.
The video shows Barzan Ibrahim, Saddam's half brother and former intelligence chief, and Awad Hamed al-Bandar, head of Iraq's Revolutionary Court, being hanged side by side.
They wore red prison jumpsuits. As they reached the gallows, black hoods were put on their heads and five masked men surrounded them.
After the trap doors opened, al-Bandar could be seen dangling from the rope. Ibrahim's body was lying on the floor, chest down, his severed head resting several yards away.
The execution was conducted on the same gallows where Saddam was hanged Dec. 30.
Hanged and decapitated, that would be a terrible way to go for a self-styled god.
Time to set off the 2nd nuke to get some psychological boost.
And said video will be leaked to the internet in 5, 4, 3....

Heavy weight guys tend to self decapitate especially from a long neck breaking drop.

Geez, you would think that after all the people killed under Saddam they would have this execution thing down pat. You don't use the same rope and the same drop for two different people unless they are the same size and weight.
They should have gotten the bungee jump cord operators at state fairs to do this for them. They got the weight cord ratio all figured out.
Saddam's boys are not known for finesse. Besides, their forte is mass killing.

Actually, there is predictable reaction from Iraq. The Shia are saying he didn't deserve to die even this well. The Sunni are accusing the Shia of mutilating the body.

It shouldn't. Decapitation is their favorite pasttime when non-muslims come to visit.
