To: I see my hands

??? Being amazed doesn't usually leave me breathless. Being scared, stressed out, winded - those things leave me asthmatic and breathless, but being amazed when I hear someone acting snooty is not usually among them.

I'm very aware that a bus is not a subway, lol, living in a city that's only 4 feet above sea level. And I'm aware that a car service is somehow not a taxi. That was my point! It's an affectation to give the impression that taking public transportation is somehow having the VIP treatment.

If you expect deference from any of those retail entities, you're probably constantly disappointed.

Well, one need not be breathless in order to benefit from a breather. A breather is a rest, a pause, a time out, not limited to the regaining of ones breath.

You are right, it's rare to encounter a worker with a good work ethic these days. Lucky if you don't get attitude. It's satisfying to say anyone who has ever engaged me has gotten their money's worth in all regards.
