Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger voiced support for President Bush's plan to send more U.S. troops to Iraq, in an interview to be broadcast Sunday with ABC's George Stephanopoulos.
"I think we should give it everything," Schwarzenegger said, according to a story about the interview posted on the ABC News Web site. "We should give it everything in order to be victorious."
The governor said he did not want to see the United States "pull out of this war as losers," according to ABC, because that would be "disastrous" for the region.
Schwarzenegger is a Republican who strives for a moderate image. By supporting the troop buildup, he is lining up with the conservatives in his party on Iraq.

Ahnold is finally doing something right I see.
"We have won again. That is good! But what is best in life?"
"The open steppe, fleet horse, falcon on your wrist, wind in your hair!"
"Wrong! Conan, what is best in life?"
"To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of the women!"
"That is good."
Gov. Terminator, is not a girly man.
Good for him! I disagree with him on some things, but he's totally right about this.
It's more than I can say for Chuck Hagel and some others who are now saying, "Bush lied, kids died."
Now if he would define "it" perhaps his statement may be believable.
That's a start.
Of course he is.
Tom McClintock is focused on what is best for our sovereignty and Schwarzenegger is focused on votes.
What focus better promotes one's election and promotion in California?

Schwarzenegger Backs Troop Surge
January 12, 2007 6:24 PM
ABC News' Teddy Davis Reports: In an interview with ABC News' George Stephanopoulos, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, R-Calif., backed President Bush's call for sending more U.S. troops to Iraq.
"I think we should give it everything," Schwarzenegger told ABC News. "We should give it everything in order to be victorious."
While saying in the interview that he does not want the U.S. to "pull out of this war as losers," believing that to do so would be "disastrous" for the region Schwarzenegger reiterated his support for a "timeline" for U.S. troop withdrawal so that Iraqis know that they have "got to be independent."
When asked about whom he will support for president in 2008, Schwarzenegger named two of the GOPs front runners: former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz. Schwarzenegger also named Michael Bloomberg, the Democratic-turned-Republican mayor of New York City, who is considering an independent presidential bid.
"I think that if its Rudy Giuliani, I think that if it is McCain, he's a terrific candidate, even Bloomberg, all of those guys are terrific," said Schwarzenegger.
To see the full interview, tune in Sunday to This Week with George Stephanopoulos .
Arnold understands that victory is the only "exit strategy".
He knows how to talk out of both sides of his mouth.
He supports the Bush "surge" plan but calls for a timeline (opposed by Bush and supported by the Bush antagonists.)
Doublespeak.
Oh go throttle yer waddle someplace else.
This is a GOOD thing, supporting the surge.
Yes, supporting the surge is a good thing.
Calling for a timeline is not.
Mixed bag.
You can cut the trash talk, anytime.
Now I can sleep better at night knowing Arnie finally said something in support of President Bush. [/s]
God Bless ya Arnie! The USofA ain't no girly-man Nation!
I should be surprised. But he probably thinks he's running for president.
