i have a 3 and a half year old cavalier and just got a new cav pup for christmas, she's 4 mo. old. Lucius, the older boy is having some problems but i think he will get over them. he is doing everything in his power to convince the little snip that he is the alpha dog, but she is very feisty and not totally convinced of it yet.

Brother and Ulysses have reached a curious compromise about the top dog issue. When there are plates to be licked or Greenies to be handed out, Brother gets all the licks and Greenies he wants and Ulysses is the second class citizen. At bed time it's the opposite. Brother goes to the dog bed on the floor and Ulysses sleeps on the human bed with his daddy, all the time trying to push daddy out of the bed. Each weighs about 70 pounds. Neither, of course, is a spoiled dog.

I want a cav. I have two cockers, but I have always wanted a cav.
I don't think my two would be happy to have another dog around though. They are 6 and 3. I've had them both from the time they were pups. The 6 year old was 8 weeks and the 3 year old was 7 months when I got them. I love them! They're just like a couple warm wooly throwrugs at my feet when I'm on the computer.
