Thanks. I know they plan on shutting any opposition down, but, I didn't know it went to that extent. I cry for my country's future and it pisses me off that I do.

Great post, lass. I'm gonna use your links this afternoon when I can come up with the right scathing wording.

Another "well done" joanie. You're probably aware Focus on the Family and the American Family Association have both sent out flyers re this "issue". Several have been posted on FR with sickeningly little response. I think that says a lot more about the membership of FR than most of us would like to admit.
I hope your well chosen words and style will create more interest in this most recent attack on our God given, Constitutinally guaranteed rights than has been previously shown. I won't be holding my breath gal.
Keep up the fight.

Which one of these is left?

Even though we are still "free" to contact Congress, they seem to be free to not respond. In my attempts to contact them, the disconnect has been complete and total.
They take care of each other, and couldn't care less about representing the American public.

Is there any chance of putting this under the "Breaking News" heading so that we can get more people contacting the Senate?
TIA.

"...the new democrat-controlled senate has introduced yet another assault on the First Amendment -- at least that portion of it that guarantees free speech to the average citizen, and those grassroots organizations that attempt to work in his behalf. As is generally the case, the big guys are exempt from the chains that are being prescribed for you and me."Bush could and should have vetoed CFR, but instead chose to avoid the flak altogether by tossing it over the transom to SCOTUS which, the White House was convinced, would surely declare it unconstitutional (well, "surprise, surprise" as Goober used to intone). Of course, an increasingly out-of-touch SCOTUS, still part of our federal Komintern,, didn't do that, leaving Bush with egg on his face and a thoroughly pissed off conservative base. Now comes presidential opportunity #2. Will Bush, this time, step up and do what we elect our presidents to do, protect and defend the Constitution, and veto HR 1? Or will he sign it as presented, like he has everything else?
I am not optimistic.
