Well...in case no one else has mentioned it, there is a really good FICTION book out there that is a fun read on global warming.
http://www.amazon.com/State-Fear-Michael-Crichton/dp/B000HOJGL8/sr=8-1/qid=1168708310/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/102-0432554-4640149?ie=UTF8&s=books

Michael Crichton fictional analysis is, however, backed up by many, MANY references.
I am not a scientist, so I don't know how to interpret the data he cites other than on the face of it.
But...the book really slams the whole idea, AND more importantly, gives some scope into the idea of the media/government needing a topic that will SCARE the populace.

It is a fun read..even if it is fiction ;-)

I loved this book, but the BEST part about it was- even though fiction-the extensive sources he then listed in the back.

Well, Global Warming is kinder and gentler than chopping off heads and tossing them down the steps of the pyramid.

Besides, if the sheeple were not terrified then who'd by all those sleeping medications advertised on late-night TV?

Yes, without fear, the sheeple might acquire the ability to study the movements of the planetary bodies for themselves, and, having figured out the REAL reasons why the sun goes dark during an eclipse, they might get very pissed off, climb the steps of the pyramid, and kill the priests.

Can't have that.  Not good for business.
