A federal judge has rejected, for now, the effort by a former ambassador, Joseph Wilson IV, to escape testifying in the trial of Vice President Cheney's former chief of staff, I. Lewis Libby Jr. "Since Ambassador Wilson has yet to be actually called as a witness, he has not been inconvenienced, nor can he establish at this time that the subpoena is unreasonable or oppressive. Accordingly, his motion is premature," Judge Reggie Walton wrote in an order dated Tuesday.

In other news:
Bloggers gain access to "Scooter" Libby trial
Internet bloggers will be allowed to cover the criminal trial of former White House staffer Lewis "Scooter" Libby alongside reporters from traditional media outlets, a court spokesman said on Thursday.
Members of a bloggers' association will share at least two seats during the high-profile trial in which Libby's former boss, Vice President Dick Cheney, is expected to testify, said Sheldon Snook, a spokesman for the U.S. District Court in Washington.
The arrangement is believed to be a first for a high-profile court case, although trade shows and political conventions have issued media passes to bloggers in the past several years.
Break out the champagne! Today is THE GOOD NEWS DAY for sure. (Only thing that would make it better would be getting the news that Cindy Sheehan was prevented from leaving Cuba.)
OR they got OBL.
I suspect that Libby's defense will question a variety of reporters about Wilson and what he said to them, and then put Wilson on the spot.
I doubt the defense will have much trouble bringing either the reporters' credibility or Wilson's credibility or both into question. That should pretty much unravel the bogus case against him, and likely make Wilson the defendant in a civil lawsuit rather than members of the Bush administration.
It could also land Wilson in jail. Especially if he misrepresented his trip to Niger or what he discovered on that trip.
He also appeared to have knowledge of classified information he should not have had access to, so his wife might also be risking jail time.
I'm not surprised that he tried to squash the subpoena. However, Wilson is obviously among Libby's accusers. If Libby can't confront him, I don't understand how the trial can go forward.
Altho, nothing on earth can compare with the news that two kidnapped children have been found alive.
LOL......you might have enjoyed this a *little* too much!
And what with Fitz-idiot do if he catches Wilson in a lie?
I want to see and hear Tim Russert under oath on that stand.
Amen. Think of how that mother and father feel tonight!
Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaha!
IF? Wilson has done nothing BUT lie. It will be MOST interesting to see him deny his lies in order to escape perjuring himself. He's in a corner. LOL
He's another one that should be thrown in jail
Another blow to the MSM
BUMP!
Thanks for the ping.
It's a great day.
