My time is limited, so I'm focusing on the fact that we know he never went to school beyond the fifth grade.
Take that single thing. Then ask yourself, besides stealing a child from his family and putting them through unspeakable pain, what was going to be the end result of Devlin keeping Shawn? (And Ben was to be next in line for...whatever). A child who misses middle school and high school, IF he lives, and that to me was doubtful, has no future. A child who isn't who he and Devlin claim him to be, but is living a lie as to his identity, has no future. I'm talking about learning, a career, a history, a sense of self and of accomplishment, the ability to be lawfully employed and support oneself and a family.
Shawn was headed for some kind of dead end. I would love to be the prosecutor if this nitwit thinks he can make a jury believe that the circumstances in these two cases are defensible, non-criminal and without evil intent. I know several on here seem concerned that they can pull that off.
I don't believe Devlin and his slimey lawyers have a prayer of it, and if they think so, they're delusional.
So do I. Some of those are the kids who left the empty chair for him at 8th grade graduation.
